Italy, Noto, Sicily

Noto was rebuilt after a devastating earthquake in the early 18th century. The town was reconstructed using the sophisticated architectural Baroque style of this period. It has very walkable streets, impressive structures, and the best almond granita and brioche perhaps in Sicily. The storied Cathedral sits prominently in the heart of town. This community oozes with charm and personality.

The Small List

Best Restaurant

Ristorante Crocifisso – In a low-key neighborhood of Noto, chef Marco Baglieri uses impeccable ingredients to devise divine versions of traditional Sicilian dishes.

Best Cafe

Dolceria Corrado Costanzo – For pastries, granita, and brioche in Noto, Costanzo is justifiably the most famous. As any good Sicilian will tell you, the best way to start the day is with ice cream for breakfast.
